This is a shorter Stephen King novel and that serves it well. He lives with his mother, has no idea who his father is, and ends up helping with some ongoing criminal investigations by, you guessed it, interviewing dead people. Later on is a quick as well as compelling read, and a real fun cross-genre event that adeptly blends. The advantage is that this one is much shorter, so the commitment is much less. Typically, Conklin is a rather relatable kid, no doubt made better than his years thanks to all his communicating the lately left and the knowledge of hindsight as he remembers his life’s story. ![]() So, here we are and Stephen King has released another book, this time called Later. I went in unspoiled, didn’t even read the premise, and was excited to experience it blindly. OK, being a bit dramatic, but about a year and a half ago, I treated myself to the latest Stephen King book, specifically the audiobook. ![]()

Potok was, as well as an author, a painter, and his personal struggle is apparent in his painting titled "Brooklyn Crucifixion." And yet despite this seemingly agonizing struggle, Potok remained active as an artist/writer and engaged in the religion of his upbringing until his death in 2002. Potok asserted that the conflict between tradition and individualism is constant and that the tension between religion and art is lifelong. The book follows Asher's maturity as both an artist and a Jew. Of the nine books of lyrics Sappho is said to have composed, none of the music is extant and only one poem has survived complete. I selected my favorite fragments from If Not, Winter to analyze and to ponder their possible meanings. She was a musical genius who devoted her life to composing and performing songs.
